Adopt-A-Platoon Service Project

On March 22, 2018, Clayton Rotary Club had a great in-meeting service project. We adopted a US Armed Forces front-line platoon. For security reasons, we never knew what branch of service or where on the front lines they were, but we knew they needed care packages from people who were grateful for their service!

Everyone brought with them, items to donate to the care boxes. We had collected snacks, personal hygiene items, books, and more.

First we organized tables with like items. Then we set up a system of tables for filling out address labels, sealing the boxes, filling out customs forms, and writing cards to tell the service members how much we appreciated them, and thanked them for their service.

We ended up with 45 boxes packed and ready to take to the Post Office. It was a rewarding project and we all had a lot of fun doing it.
